Orange Brownies

This recipe was sent to me by Pat Robertson. Pat works with my sister Barbara. Pat made these cookies for Barb’s 4th of July Celebration, and they were delicious.

orange Ingredients:
1 ½ cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 cup butter, softened
4 large eggs
2 tsp. pure orange extract
1 tsp. grated orange zest

Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 TBSP orange juice
2 tsp. grated orange zest

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 X 13 pan. Stir flour, sugar and salt in a bowl. Add butter, eggs, extract and zest. Using an electric mixer, beat until well blended. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes or until light golden brown and set. Remove from oven and pierce entire cake with a fork. Pour glaze over warm cake and spread. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.

For glaze, mix all ingredients together and stir until smooth.
